Connect Outlook - if IT Admin Approval is needed

IF the ability to connect Outlook to HubSpot is blocked, you'll see an error message (note the microsoft logo). This means: call IT.

Steps for you, the User, to Submit a Request to your IT Team

    • Attempt to connect the account in Outlook through HubSpot's Sales Extension.
    • Click the Microsoft "Need admin approval" prompt blocking the connection. (This needs to be enabled by the IT team; it's not a default option).
    • Select the option to request approval, or copy the details/notify your IT department directly with the specific app request.

Steps for IT to Follow in Microsoft Admin

    • Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center or Microsoft 365 admin center using a Global Administrator or Cloud Application Administrator account.
    • Navigate to Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).
    • Go to Enterprise applications and select All applications.
    • Search for and select HubSpot.
    • Go to Security and click on Permissions to review the requested scopes.
    • Click Grant admin consent for your organization and complete the authorization flow prompt.
    • Alternatively, go to Settings > Org Settings > User consent to apps in the main admin center to adjust policies if you prefer allowing verified publisher requests.

Steps for the User to Submit a Request
